Diane Marie Moore Green

Diane Marie Moore Green, 62, died peacefully on Monday, March 4, 2024 at Candler Hospital.

Diane was born January 28th, 1962 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. She was adopted by her parents, William Bird Moore (predeceased in 2016) and Barbara Jeanne Boyce Moore. She graduated in 1980 from Sikeston High and attended the University of Kentucky before graduating from Southeast Missouri State University.

Diane was predeceased by her husband, Philip Steven Green. Diane and Phillip were married on January 11th, 2014. 

In addition to her mother, Diane is survived by two sons, Stephen Moore Plunk & Jacob William Plunk; two stepdaughters, Crystal Thacker and Shalan Hall, a stepson, Tory Freeman; five step-grandchildren; three siblings, Mark Moore, Michael Moore and Mary Moore; and numerous beloved cousins, nieces and nephews. Diane is also survived by her lifelong best friends, Stephanie Alice Huff and Betsy Sikes Fox.

Diane was kind and generous to all who knew her. She was beloved by many and will be greatly missed. She was a great friend and an even better mother.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest you consder a donation in Diane's memory be made to Savannah Repertory Theatre, or Savannah Book Festival, or Sikeston Public Library.

Visitation will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. A rosary service will begin at 6:00 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 5, 2024 at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Catholic Cemetery.

I’m so sorry to hear about the loss of Diane. As I close my eyes and thinking back to the times in junior and high school times. Some of our classmates would meet on Sunday afternoon at Baptist church to play football and other activities. Diane would always have a pretty smile and interacting everyone. I’ll always remember her as being kind and enjoying life
